Pair of large and smaller cross patte pendants, with guilloch red enamel-set arms, painted center featuring a portrait of Saint Anna on one-side and on the reverse side a pattern to distinguish the class ranking, all set in 14k yellow gold, suspended from a 14k rose gold bail. Maker's marks indicate the metals were made from 1898-1908 in Russia, with Imperial makers marks marked 56 (zolotnik) signed AK. The large metal is class three and the small on is class two, indicating they were awarded to non-nobility. The Imperial Order of Saint Anna is a Russian award to nobility and civilians for for exceptional civil service or exceptional military service by the head of the house of Romanov. The order was created by Karl Friedrich in honor of his wife Anna Perovna, daughter of Peter the Great of Russia in 1735.
